D goes on indefinite hiatus
D was a visual kei band. They were part of the cosplay kei, kote kei, tanbi kei, and wafuu kei subgenres. They were active from 2003 to 2024 and are currently paused.
It's always risky to make assumptions about band names, but I have two guesses about D. Either it's an homage to Bram Stoker's Dracula, where the vampire's signature is the letter "D", or it could be a homophony with "帝" (Dì) meaning "emperor" in Chinese.
I hope so. especially for they have been through different concepts through the years (angura kei, Wonderland, vampires, European folklore, Chinese history) and I'm very interested their very unique way of writing music.
I have the singles 「風がめくる頁」 and 「桜花咲きそめにけり」. However, do any fans know if they have any other 和風 (Wafuu / Traditional Japanese) themed songs? I love solo 浅葱 too for this reason.
