The concept for Versailles was beginning to form between vocalist KAMIJO and guitarist HIZAKI. At some point, bassist Jasmine You and guitarist TERU join.
KAMIJO and HIZAKI announce they would form a new band.
KAMIJO announces the members and band name on his blog and later the official website and Myspace are opened. The band would later conduct several interviews with foreign press. TERU is initially states himself as a support member due to his current band Aikaryu (藍華柳~Aikaryu~) still being active.

Versailles interrupts activity
Versailles was a visual kei band. They were part of the tanbi kei subgenre. They were active from 2007 to 2023 and are currently paused.
I read somewhere that Hizaki gave an interview saying that they're disbanding after their show on 12/14, but in the same interview also hinted that they're coming back too?
It was very unclear if they're breaking up again, taking a break, or if the whole thing was mistranslated.
I had no idea about the drama with the US artist Versailles...petty. I had always wondered why they used that ~Philharmonic Quintet~ extension with their name sometimes.

Oh the US name change drama is pretty hilarious if you can dig up the details. It was a single Myspace artist vs the online VK fandom! If you dig up the court case it states things like stealing Yahoo search results from her and a bunch of other nonsense!! She also claimed a bunch of other stuff like being descendant from French royalty or some shit. The whole thing was super messy and stupid.
