Many sources spell this band's name as “Visun,” but this is incorrect. The June 1994 issue of Azalie And various flyers confirm that it is Viṣṇu.
According to guitarist Seine, various unreleased songs were prepared for Viṣṇu and Masquerade, including: neo-nazis (or Neo NAZIS (Neo ナチス)), Kaze no Nai Tokoroe (風の無い処へ), SABBAT, SLAVE, ICE, MANIA, END, and an unnamed ballad. However, it's unclear which of these songs were for Viṣṇu and which were for Masquerade. Interestingly, Viṣṇu also performed AIR and Genkaku no Hana (幻覚の華), the two songs that would later be released by Masquerade.
Viṣṇu (ヴィシュヌ) forms.
According to KISAKI's official biography, LAYBIAL and Gesshoku (月蝕) played together at Hirakata BLOW DOWN (枚方BLOW DOWN) on May 12, 1994. As Gesshoku (月蝕) had disbanded by this time, it's likely that KISAKI's biography has the wrong date (as some other lives were off by one or two days) or that the live was planned but cancelled (or even switched to Viṣṇu). Details are unclear.
Viṣṇu produces five copies of a demo tape for the magazine Azalie to give out as a present.
Viṣṇu debuts at Kyoto (京都) ROCK Tengoku (ロック天国). Presumably in time for their first live, guitarist Shuji has joined the band.
On the flyer for the September lives, only Yoma and Rei are shown.
V. Yoma (殀磨) / B. Rei (麗)
On the flyer for the October live, Yoma, Seine, Aili and Rei are shown.
A live takes place somewhere in Nagoya on an unknown date.
At some point, drummer Masa joins the band.
By this time, support guitarist Aili has seceded and vocalist Yoma (殀磨) has changed his name to Kyo (京).
