Panic Channel (パニックちゃんねる) and PANIC☆ch form in Tokyo (東京)東京, by 刹那(Kana) MEGURU, and たら(Tara). MEGURU first wanted to be the drummer, but they convinced him to be the lead singer instead.

Drummer Takumi (たくみ) joins, the band states it was the fastest they ever accepted a memeber, since Takumi (たくみ) was Kana's (華那) senpai in secondary school.

Panic Channel (パニックちゃんねる) was a visual kei alter-ego project in Tokyo. They were part of the kote kei subgenre. They were active from 2002 to 2011 and are currently paused.
what is the diffrence between panic channel and panic ch? do they just have two diffrent names because they seem to have the same history and members but they're listed as two seperate bands.

They are the same band, with 2 different personalities. One is a punk rock band that turned into a modern rock band, they call this side CH. This band is NOT visual kei, but they did play with a lot of visual kei live houses. I asked the band themselves and they would like this band not to be considered visual, but your average rock band.
This page you're looking at is パニックちゃんねる(Panic Channel) same band, but different sound, this is their kote kei side which they call Kote no Hou コテの方(kote side).
The band itself, when referring to both bands is Panic Channel.
CH is referred to their Rock side, as for Kote no Hou is used for their visual kei side.
Their concept is 2nd Page Nature Species Band, which translations were bad with google back then; which is supposed to be Split Personality Band. Hence the bands name "Panic Channel", where the band themselves states that if you change the channel on your television, you can get a different show. You can always change the between the two when you like.
Sometimes the band would do a live as both sides, which they call 混乱番組(Konran Bangumi(Confusion Program)), where the band is wearing their regular clothes mixed with pieces of their visual clothes, and play songs from both sides.
Kote no Hou will never play any CH songs, besides 雑草 ~Be awake~
CH will never play any Kote no Hou songs, besides 孤独妄想.
