[Band Profile] KAKASHI

So, long story short, I discovered a folder of webpages that I'd saved years ago, and that inspired me to dig up a little more information about an old band called カカシ (KAKASHI (カカシ)).

The reason I [and you should] care about カカシ (KAKASHI (カカシ)) is their band history: the guitarist was also in シュガーフォークフル (SUGAR FORKFUL (シュガーフォークフル)) and Dali, and the vocalist was in Marvelous Maiden and has been a long time UNDER CODE PRODUCTION staff member! So as you can see, although KAKASHI (カカシ) was never affiliated with UCP, the members definitely have a history with the label.

  • Vo. タカフミ (TAKAFUMI) BIRTHDAY 8/30 [カカシ (KAKASHI (カカシ)) → R.E.DMarvelous Maiden (+ UNDER CODE PRODUCTION staff)]

  • Gu.

(GILL) → Villain → FOWR]

【BIOGRAPHY】カカシ (KAKASHI (カカシ)) was formed in 2003 by leader シュンサク (SHUNSAKU). They held their first live on December 23rd, at which they freely distributed their first CD, (Shounen Jidai). (At this live, トヲル (TOWORU) served as support drummer; it wasn't until January 25th, 2004, that he officially joined the band.)

Only three months after forming, the band seemed to be gaining momentum: on 2004-03-15 they freely distributed a second press of 少年時代 (Shounen Jidai), and on 2004-03-28 they held their first oneman live. However, on May 21st of that year, they announced that they would soon disband.

The band's first live in 2004 was held on 2004-01-25, and トヲル (TOWORU) officially joined the band at this live. On 2004-03-15, the band freely distributed a second press of 少年時代 (Shounen Jidai). Later that month, on 2004-03-28, the band held their first oneman live. However, on 2004-05-21, the band announced that they would soon disband.

On June 13th, 2004, カカシ (KAKASHI (カカシ)) participated in the omnibus release BAD FLOWER. However, on July 10th, the band held its final live at 神戸 (Kobe) MerseyBeat and disbanded. At that live, the band sold its final release, a mini-album called (The full tracklisting of that release is unknown, but it is known to have contained the songs 沈丁花 (Shinchouge) and 風切羽 (Kazakiribane).)

(SHUNSAKU) joined the UNDER CODE PRODUCTION band シュガーフォークフル (SUGAR FORKFUL (シュガーフォークフル)), and would later work his way to Dali (although he left that band in its infancy, and has not worked since). (TAKAFUMI) eventually formed the band Marvelous Maiden, but is more known for being the head staff at UNDER CODE PRODUCTION. Bassist 雛 (HINA) joined a few small bands, the most recent being ex-MIRAGE band FOWR. Finally, drummer トヲル (TOWORU) has been fairly inactive, except for a short stint in a band called ラチ (LACHI).

Cool. I love looking up stuff about obscure VK bands, too, especially when they have uber-rare, mysterious releases like this one.

BTW, you repeated yourself a little bit in the beginning of the post.

Yeah, me too! Glad you enjoyed the post (and thanks for the correction)
