Special project Sou.AYTO.Jin PROJECT (爽.AYTO.仁 PROJECT) forms in Chiba (千葉)千葉.
The band's start is slightly murky, as it's clear that they had a previous vocalist and a previous name (seemingly prior to the “PROJECT” name). This may be referring to ECHO, although Sou (爽) is said to have seceded from that band. Details are unclear.
Unknown previous vocalist secedes.

Sou.AYTO.Jin PROJECT (爽.AYTO.仁 PROJECT) changes their name to SaKuRa (桜-SaKuRa-) (サクラ).
Bassist Sou (爽) switches to vocals. Around the same time, HAJIME begins as support guitarist, and MISA begins as support bassist.
At some unknown time (but after January 2001), drummer Jin (仁) changes his name to Takahito (貴仁).
Sometime between the band's first demotape and their first maxi-single (possibly 2001-03-18), bassist Kizashi (萌) joins, replacing support bassist MISA.
