By April, Hitoshi (ひとし) and JUNICHI seceded.

TEKKO changes his name back to TERU, which ends up sticking.

GLAY sign to Platinum Records (プラチナム・レコード), which is also founded by YOSHIKI, becoming one of the very first signees to the label.
NOBUMASA joins GLAY.
NOBUMASA leaves GLAY. From this point on, no official drummer joins the group.
GLAY release "BELOVED", which becomes their first million-selling album.
GLAY release their single "Kuchibiru (口唇)", which becomes their first million-selling single.
GLAY release their first compilation album "REVIEW -BEST OF GLAY-", which goes on to sell an astonishing total of over 5 million copies, becoming their best selling release to date.
GLAY sign to Unlimited Records, immediately becoming the label's flagship artists.
GLAY holds their first outdoor live extravaganza GLAY EXPO '99 at the MAKUHARI MESSE (幕張メッセ) venue, which celebrated their 10th anniversary. It went on to become the largest traditional concert in Japan, amassing over 200,000 people in attendance.
