**LYRICS **
(keep me in mind...)
The old world is changing, so we must re-invent.
I've painted your eyes on porcelain.
A warm orange glow from show windows;
expensive clothes on mannequins.
The fabric is left to waste
(on silhouettes)
A marionette could never choose to live
like you would have done as a girl.
(& with the musette)
She pirouettes, then I see you instead.
she will have your name.
The scripture is vague but he must find it profane.
(an hour to build you)
to remake your body from wood.
(and dress you in linen and lace)
You BEL ESPRIT, you prodigy; you masterpiece to be made--
your strings are ladders to Heaven.
And the blackbird did sing
"climb up to me- all that I dream you became"
while my dreams have faded back to gray.
(I could have wept)
A marionette will never move her limbs.
Her movements projected by the hand.
(over her head)
So she pirouettes,
then I see you instead.
She will have your face.
expand?
