Waive is coming back again, but they have already planned their disbandment.

Waive, a popular soft-visual band from the turn of the century, is no stranger to on-again / off-again activities. They formed in 2000 and ended up going major under DANGER CRUE in 2005. However, shortly after the band announced their disbandment in October of the same year. Since then, they have reformed in limited time periods on several occasions, and even released new music during some of the revivals.

This week, the band has announced that they are back again. According to their announcement on Visunavi, Waive are looking to give it their all until 2025, to mark the 25th anniversary of their formation. At that point, the band will hold their final performance -- a oneman at Nippon Budokan (日本武道館), one of the largest venues in Tokyo.

The band is considering this era of their activities as a to work like "the living dead", as they know their activities will be limited. With that, a lot of their imagery relates to fire (as shown by their new promo pic), really driving home the idea that this is their way of going out with a bang.

"やがて燃え尽きるのなら、自らの意志で燃焼させ燃やし尽くす。" ("If we burn out, we will burn out by our own volition.")

While we do not have many details yet, Waive also stated that they are using the next 2 and a half years to embark on full scale activities, including live performances and even releasing their 4th studio album.

You can check out their digital best-of album below. Note: this does appear to be region locked, however, so it might not be available for streaming in your area.
