I got my copy of the song within 5 minutes of DMing him from "the staff", but looked like his Google Drive crashed after a little bit. If a more established artist was doing this, I'd be side-eying it too, but they're just starting and can't actually do anything at the moment in terms of activity (shows, in-stores, nothing), so I don't mind helping out with the free promo gimmicks.

Well, he is basically fishing for likes. In the end it's better than just giving away 50 copies at a local live that most people won't attend, but if VK bands really want to get promotion and a fanbase they may want to cut the crap and use online platforms like bandcamp.
