JIGSAW (ジグソウ) guitarist MARU (マル) has paused activities due to stage 4 colorectal cancer.

On January 13th, the band announced that MARU (マル) is pausing activities due to illness. In their official announcement, the guitarist was admitted to the hospital after complaining about abdominal pain on January 9th. Upon receiving an MRI scan on the 12th, it was suspected that he may have cancer in his colon. MARU had even left a comment apologising to the fans and staff for the troubles he had caused and hoped for a speedy recovery.

On January 21st, however, the band released an update with further information regarding MARU's conditions and revealed that the result of the examination had diagnosed that he has stage 4 colorectal cancer. He has undergone a surgery on the 22nd, and after the surgery he will devote himself medical treatment based on anticancer drugs for recovery.

As of writing this at January 23rd, MARU had posted on his Twitter that the surgery was a success and is currently recovering in the hospital.
