The rerelease of GRAVE NEW WORLD's fabled THE LAST SANCTUARY is now available for direct purchase on limited color vinyl or standard black from Bitter Lake Recordings, an archival record label reissuing Japanese underground obscurities.
For those who prefer the compact disc format, Black Konflik of Malaysia will be releasing a CD version.
Active for four years, Tokyo's GRAVE NEW WORLD rose from the 80's underground hardcore ashes. They are a early and rare example of a single v系 musician in a non visual band, a snapshot from the time bands such as X JAPAN, LIP CREAM and DEATH SIDE coexisted in the same scene.
Guitarist HITOSHI brought his mix of Hanoi Rocks-esque glam rock, hardcore, and DEAD END-inspired metal sensibilities to their post-apocalyptic crust sound.
The group's lone album, 1992's experimental crust epic THE LAST SANCTUARY, is uncommonly challenging and immune to easy comparisons.
