Houts's lineup will change as Bassist Masato (将十) will graduate from Houts on September 28th due to a difference in direction.

Below is a translation of the messages from the bandmembers in regards to Masato's decision to leave.

Ba.Masato (将十)

First of all, I apologize for the sudden announcement.
I know it's hard to understand when you say there's a difference in direction, but the reason is the difference in direction.

To put it simply, Houts is no longer the cool band I thought it was. That's all.
"Since you're the leader, can't you change the course?" You might think so, but probably, coolness is different for everyone, and it was probably quite a while ago that I started to deviate from the members in that area.
Even though I am the leader of the group, I don't have the authority to change what the other members think is cool, so as leader of the band, I made the choice to leave.
I knew that if I continued, I wouldn't be able to love Houts anymore, and I didn't want to see myself ruining the band. I wanted to leave the band as I loved it, and I didn't want to clash with the members anymore. That's how I came up with this answer.

It was a very painful decision to leave the band that I had spent four years with including the pre-activity period and more than five years including the preparation period before that.
However, I decided that the best thing to do would be to leave the band gracefully, rather than to continue and ruin the band that I created myself.

I know that I will be stepping on a lot of feelings and breaking a lot of promises. I'm really sorry.
I know I'm not in a position to say this, but I would like to ask for your continued support for Houts.

I've been with Masato since before Houts became Houts, and I think I've spent the most time with him out of all the members.
I was expecting him to continue to play bass behind me as a matter of course, so I still find it hard to accept. Still, until this day comes, I can't show my face in front of everyone in Hs, and I've lived and endured until today.
It would be a lie to say that I won't miss him, and if you ask me if I can see him off with a smile, it's still difficult for me right now.
However, I don't have the right to decide people's lives, and I must not stop people from changing.
If Masato has made up his mind, then as a member and a friend, I decided to send him off on his own path.
He's a guy who loves music and alcohol, and in my opinion, Masato will never leave the stage.
He's going to take a different path, but I'm sure we'll meet again somewhere.
I want to shout and sing with this band Houts more than ever.
Our time together as the five of us is almost up, but I hope you will stay with us until the end.

There are still so many places I want to go and sights I want to see with Houts and Hs, but...

My cool, stupid brother is graduating.

I'm running out of here towards the end of my memories with the five Houts and Hs.
And I probably won't be able to send him off with a smile or anything pretty.
I'm sure I'll cry and be a mess.
But I'm still going to push forward with all my might, so please follow me.

As announced, Masato has decided to graduate from Houts.
I'm sorry to have made you feel sad, especially the fans.
I feel so bad that I can't show you the five of us on stage again.

I still remember how Masato invited me to come to the bar where I was working at the time.
I'm pretty sure I was drinking kamikaze lol.

Since joining the band, we have shared many joys, hardships and sorrows together.
With Masato, I had many serious discussions about live performance and sound creation, and we often clashed in meetings and personal discussions, but looking back on it now, it was one of my favorite memories.

I'd like to thank Masato for making Houts what it has been together.
You'll no longer be a member, but I hope you'll still invite me out to dinner once in a while as a friend.

He won't be a part of Houts' music in the future, but the band will continue to be stronger than ever.
We will continue to write songs, play live shows, and have many experiences.
We will continue to work hard so that Houts can be expected to evolve and change.
