Ken1 own comment about, if they are visual kei or not.
Valentine D.C.

After all he says, it was a good inspiration to be always "different" from the other visual bands back then.

As far they look very visual, surely were a trendsetter for visual kei bands, we still need to find some real proofs to be call them 100% "visual kei".
So if someone knows their old website, or knows more about the band they played events with, please drop it on discord or in a comment.
But the non-visual term is might not the correct them to tag them....

John comment: For Valentine D.C., I think it's probably a case of a glam band getting rolled up in vkei because of its popularity explosion/ambiguous definition at the time. Regardless of their feelings about it, they were definitely involved with the scene.

But at the same time, I do agree that they don't look/sound particularly visual. In this case I think the "proto vkei" tag would be fine. Maybe they weren't "all in," but they were definitely involved in vkei.

I'm thinking, as the way they were in some SHOXX magazines, isn't it suffisant to say that's they were vk ?

kumika Do you know in which SHOXX magazines they were in?

They were a truly trendsetter for visual bands for sure.

I would just say, they were one of the trendsetter bands of visual kei even being not actually a visual band, but just an "out of the box, unique" glamrock band. Which could be promoted as visual but also simple as glamrock. bigger audience. more fans, more popularity. I believe they were also very fast in doing (big) oneman gigs only. whenever you guys liked glamrock or visual kei, both fan domes maybe were welcomed and could get along?

After all... after their coming back, they were not that visual anymore, just way more casual normal rock with a taste of glam.

Well, me personally, I definitely think they were a VK band, albeit one that came out when lines between glam and VK were sorta becoming blurred. A lot of people judge whether a band is VK based on their associations with other bands that were very much, indisputably visual, and VDC had that by playing with guys like Eins:Vier amd Kuroyume, and also with members having ties to groups like Plastic, The Space Cowboys and (the original) Vivid. As far as them being in VK magazines, that is true. I've got a tooonnnnnn of VK magazines, and I distinctly remember them being in some. Below is a link of a lot of the magazines they've been in (just have to do the CTRL+F option), which include very regular pairings with guys like Shazna, Siam Shade, Malice Mizer, Color, Buck-Tick, Sleep My Dear, Deshabillz, hide, Kneuklid Romance and By-Sexual, as well as a good amount of entries in Vicious as well, a historically VK-centered magazine.

Once again though, this is just my opinion after years of being familiar and fond of these guys, and doing a good amount of research into their history. Whether Kenichi thinks they were VK or not probably holds more weight, but Idunno... it just seems verrrrrry obvious that they were, by their own history, style and associations/ties.
