シャ乱Q has been romanized over the years as both SHARAM Q and the phonetically correct SHARAN Q, although the band have been known to use the former much more.
SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q) is formed in Osaka (大阪)大阪, originally as a session/supergroup. The bandname is actually a combination of the members's then-bands.

After two years of releasing material that failed to chart (including two mini-albums and three singles), SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q) finally get their commercial break with the release of their fourth single “上・京・物・語”, which becomes their first release to break the Oricon charts at number 45.
Thanks to the slight success of “上・京・物・語”, SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q)'s first full length album, “ロスタイム”, reaches number 38 on the Oricon charts, becoming their first album to chart.
SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q) release their sixth single, “シングルベッド”, which becomes their first massive hit. It is used as an ending theme to the popular anime series's DNA2, and reaches number 9 on the Oricon charts, soon becoming certified platinum.
Thanks to the strong success of “シングルベッド”, its accompanying album, “劣等感”, is soon certified platinum as well.
SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q) release their seventh single “ズルい女”, which becomes their first million-selling single. It soon becomes one of the best selling singles in Japanese music history.
SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q) release their third full length album, “勝負師”, which becomes their first million-selling album. It reaches number 2 on the Oricon charts and becomes the 16th best selling album of 1996 in Japan.
SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q) release their 11th single “涙の影, which becomes their first Oricon-topping release. It is soon certified double platinum.
SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q) announce they are looking for a female backing vocalist, and hold auditions on the popular television show ASAYAN.
The 11 runner-ups of the ASAYAN contest are spun off into another project, the idol group モーニング娘。, which goes down as one of the most popular and best-selling Japanese idol groups of all time.
It is reported that Ba. しゅう was arrested for sexual assault of a 16-year old girl and college-aged girl. He is promptly dropped from the band, and his name is then-on-out expunged from the history of SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q). Presumably due to the strong negative attention the arrest of Ba. しゅう got, SHARAM Q (シャ乱Q)'s popularity quickly dwindles.
