Raddock (ラドック)

This band isn't Kirakira by any means. The best way to describe them is Kote-Osa. Their early work as XI was inspired by 90's Visual Kei, and used a lot of 90's chord progressions. Their work as Raddock is much more in line with mid 2000s GazettE

They have the "look" of a Kirakira band but I wouldn't group these guys with the likes of The Raid or LM.C

I get saying that they have aspects of another substyle, but saying they are not kirakira at all? They definitely have the look, aren't visuals kind of important in visual kei lol? As for the music, they have that bright and slightly digital rock sound that kirakira bands are known for. I don't think it's fair to completely write off their kirakira kei alignment just because they share aspects with koteosa kei bands.

I don't get what you mean by "bright digital rock sound". These guys don't have that at all. They have some synthesizers, sure, but the music is much much more guitar-based and in the case of Raddock, a lot more Metalcore based. I have their full discography downloaded. XI straight up sounds like early 2000s Kote-Osa with pretty heavy 90's Visual Kei inspiration, and Raddock is mostly GazettE-esque metalcore. It's not that the "share aspects" with Kote-Osa bands, it's that they are Kote-Osa. I'm not saying you can't be both Kote-Osa and Kirakira, some of the earlier bands like V-Last definitely combined the two, but rather that Kote-Osa is a more fitting tag than KiraKira.

A lot of the other bands on the Dear Dolce label were definitely more KiraKira, but I just don't think this band is. XI is just old school Kote-Osa and Raddock is veering on the edge of LoudKei (although I don't think they're heavy enough to fully warrant the LoudKei tag). To me they have way more in common with their label mate Memento Mori, as well as bands like Wizard, The GazettE than they do most KiraKira bands.

To reiterate on something I didn't mention before, I was moreso talking about Raddock being undoubtedly kirakira kei. I never said that XI wasn't koteosa, and I agree with that statement, but it is very clear that they veered their style towards kirakira after their name change, like many other bands of that time. You seem to be suggesting that kirakira cannot be guitaur-based or metalcore, which is simply not the case at all with early kirakira kei bands. If you compare their style as XI and their style as Raddock, you can tell how they transitioned to music with a brighter tone, which aligns with kirakira. In fact, their styles are so different that it is unfair to say that Raddock cannot be kirakira kei because XI was not. Additionally, Raddock's visuals are so violently kirakira kei that I find your argument that they have nothing to do with kirakira strange. I don't know what you have against labeling this band in particular as kirakira, but in my opinion it is a very good example of the trend of bands switching to kirakira kei that swept the scene in that time period.

I don't see how Raddock's music is lighter in any way. In fact, it seemed to have gotten heavier. I just don't see how it's KirakiraKei at all. There's a lot more downtuned riffs and growling. Sure, they have some lighter songs, but many songs in Raddock were leaning much deeper into heavier territory than Raddock

"many songs in raddock were leaning much deeper into heavier territory than raddock"?? Did you mean to say XI? You seem to have misinterpreted "lighter" as "not heavy". I meant that the mood of the music was lighter, which I specified before. Metal can be less moody and heavy at the same time. Anyway, if you can't see it, I guess we can agree to disagree.
