The band's status as visual kei is often questioned due to their sound and visuals sometimes being closer to glam rock.
In the July 1998 book INDIES BAND MAP (インディーズバンドマップ), they did describe themselves as visual kei, and they frequently featured in/advertised in visual kei magazines. Many fans thus consider them to be visual kei, and we have left them marked as such on vkgy.
However, in a June 1999 issue of déclencher, one member very clearly stated that they were not visual kei; and in a July 1999 issue of LIVE core, he stated that they are not visual kei and that he hates the word.
It's possible that the members' opinions differed, or that they were forced by their label to market themselves as visual kei (as was common during the genre's boom). Nevertheless, the members' follow-up projects are almost unanimously considered not-vkei.
JZEiL forms in Tokyo (東京)東京.
Guitarist YUJI (a junior of DAIGO, HIRO, and HITOSHI from their high school) joins.
First live is held.

The band temporarily pauses activity to “plan a significant power up.”

Around this time, in an interview in déclencher Vol.4, the band states that they are not a visual kei band. (Despite this they were heavily pushed in the visual kei scene during their indie days. It's unclear if they considered themselves vkei at the start.)
First tour begins.
Lives are cancelled due to due guitarist HIRO's illness. The band temporarily pauses activity as a result.
JZEiL pauses activity.
JZEiL resume activities.
oneman is held. Those who preorder tickets receive a free demotape.
JZEiL announces its official disbandment.
JZEiL officially disbands
JZEiL was a visual kei band in Tokyo. They were part of the soft visual subgenre. They were active from 1997 to 2001 and are now disbanded.
