Quai d'Orsay (ケイドルセ) forms.
Drummer Rio secedes at some point (unconfirmed).
At some point during the year (known only because a magazine mentioned ×VOISS×'s vocalist seceding at the same time) vocalist Yukino secedes and is replaced by vocalist KAREN. At the same time, drummer MIYAKE (ミヤケ) joins.
Later still (by January 1992 at the latest), the band changes its name to Dir ɛ̃ Gray (ディル・アン・グレイ). (The name, coined by guitarist SHOW, is said to mean “dill [flower] of gray [color].”). Note that the middle symbol is often written as a regular ampersand ("&"), but the insert of the band's self-titled tape shows that it in fact seems to be "ɛ̃". Astute observers might note that this symbol represents the French pronunciation of "en" in IPA.
Either before or after the name change (January 1992 at the latest), drummer MIYAKE (ミヤケ) secedes and is replaced by RYOHEI.
