Vo. 北川潤 reforms the band as an electronica duo, becoming the keyboardist. Vocalist Picorin joins, and THE CUTEMEN then change their name simply to Cutemen. 北川潤 goes by the name of CMJK.
Because of CMJK being a part of the massively popular electronic group DENKI GROOVE (電気グルーヴ), Cutemen soon become a major act and sign to Victor.
