BOØWY become a major act and sign to Invitation.
The band performs live for the first time at Shinjuku (新宿) LOFT, supposedly to an audience of 13 people. Among the attendees is Makoto Takahashi (高橋まこと) who would later join as drummer.
Gt. 諸星アツシ, Dr. 木村マモル, Sax. 深沢和明 all leave. Dr. 高橋まこと then joins.

First night of the event "BEAT EMOTION・LOFT 2 DAYS" is held at Shinjuku (新宿) LOFT. It is dubbed "Boui (暴威) DAY", a play on words with the band's name ("boui" meaning tyranny or violence).

The band begins recording their self-titled album at the prestigious Hansa Studios in Berlin, Germany.
The band plays at the Marquee Club in London, UK. This marks their only overseas gig.

BOØWY was a non-vkei band in Takasaki. They were active from 1981 to 1988 and are now disbanded.
