Starwave Records will hold its 10th anniversary event at BLAZE!

Lately, an increasing number of bands have birthed personal labels. This can be advantageous for the band who wants their music production to feel personal. But at the same time, there are limits to the influence that such a small operation can have.

At the heart of the visual scene are the older, larger labels, who make efficient use of the experience that they've gathered over the years. Good bands and talent gather under these labels, and so these organizations have been responsible for much of the mobilization of the visual scene.

In February 2020, Starwave Records celebrates its 10th anniversary. A so-called medium-sized label, it still plays a part in revitalizing the visual scene. Although the label has widened its lineup, it's still known as a label with a lot of kote kei bands. People who like such bands should be very familiar with the label.

Starwave Records has been able to build, over the course of 10 years, a strong relationship of trust with fans—and also between its owner and its bands. There's no doubt that the color of Starwave is an indispensable facet of the scene.

The label will celebrate its 10th anniversary with an upgraded version of its regular event, Starwave Fest: this time, it will be held on February 18, 2020, at Shinjuku (新宿) BLAZE. Appearances by the label's bands include: Scarlet Valse, Mikansei ALICE (未完成アリス), La'veil MizeriA, LABAISER (ラヴェーゼ), UNDER FALL JUSTICE, and THE SOUND BEE HD.

Additionally, a band called XXX will appear, which features Yuhma, 70., and Tomoya (知哉), who were members in a certain former Starwave band. Rounding out the cast are special guests UCHUSENTAI:NOIZ, NightingeiL, and VAMPIRE ROSE.

To go off subject for a moment, you may know the video series Starwave Nande Yanen TALK (Starwaveなんでやねんトーク), in which various Starwave bandmen talk candidly. Longtime fans of Starwave Fest may also know of the Starwave Sousenkyo (Starwave総選挙) competitions, in which live attendees vote for their favorite members across Starwave.

Both will feature in this live: a talk session will be held after the live, and attendees will participate in the 5th edition of Starwave Sousenkyo. Additionally, a large session will be held, as will a group memorial photo with the performers. An omnibus live DVD will be sold there too.
