Crack6 recently held a tour final oneman. Please enjoy an exclusive live report with photos.
Crack6 released its latest single, CANARIA (カナリア), in June. The title track asks “for whom will you sing your last love song?” and the coupling, AOI YUME (アオイユメ), addresses the “despair hidden in human relationships.” These songs serve as the beginning of a large story which Crack6 and Chisato (千聖) will drawn on going forward. To find out more, check out the single.
The band's national tour in promotion of the single, CANARIA~prologue Joshou~ (カナリア~prologue 序章~), began in June, and the tour final was on July 6th at TSUTAYA O-WEST. This live report details that oneman, and how the band has carved out the first episode of the CANARIA story.
The live began with a scream from the guitar of MSTR (a.k.a. Chisato (千聖)) and launched into CANARIA (カナリア). Piercing guitar shot through the audience and spilled out their emotions on to their hearts' canvases. This was followed by a sprinkling of digital sounds from Loveless, which saw great enthusiasm from MSTR. He then put one foot on his stand and challenged us: “what are you looking for!?” We swung our towels to the beat of 770R. The audience acted as if attacked, and fought with abandon.
MSTR's voice roared as he goaded us into jumping along with the buzzing guitar of CODE NAME“666”. Bassist TENZIXX did a two-step and danced along, while MSTR stayed still and continued to provoke the audience. Their calls back to him filled up the hall. The song transitioned naturally into Brilliant life, a battering rock and roll number that blew the audience around the hall.
Next was heavy song Catastrophe 666 which pushed the audience down into an abyss of heaviness. It sounds rolled over the bodies on the floor, a heavy black sound dragging over them. Next, the tone of the Flying V carried the gleeful ~Re-Born~. It was followed by ZERO kara Hajimeyou (ZEROから始めよう), which had the audience raising their voices along with MSTR, and opening their hearts to the next page of his story.
The second block of the live started with AOI YUME (アオイユメ), one of the band's new songs. The aggressive song found MSTR sometimes using a megaphone and trying to pull out the passion deep in the audience's hearts. This lead into CYBER ROSE, which had a latin flavor from SHIGE ROCKS' acoustic guitar. The band bounced around the stage, and the spectators danced and shook on the floor. The enthusiasm of the two groups meeting warmed everyone's hearts.
A sweet voice began Kioku no Hako (記憶の匣). The people in the hall raised their right hands, turning them into wings and letting their emotions fly up, as guided by MSTR's gentle invitation. Next, guitar resonated through the hall and then shifted to a drumbeat from JIRO 6, which began Decay. This was another hot song that had the audience raising their fists and making noise, again raising toward the sky.
The third block started with another newer number, Rain Dance. It's a provocative song that is a part of the band's new story, and that drew up the audience in a fiery storm and left them sore. It boiled into the loud rock song, Crazy Poker Face. The audience cried, screamed, and lost all logic; a rock baptism overflowed from the stage.
Foot on his stand once again, MSTR sang while swinging a towel to the left and right, radiating light of the MARIGOLD (マリーゴールド). During the hook, the audience squeezed together and swung their towels, blooming into enthusiasm together. Reaching the end of the live's story, the bustling Set Me Free had the audience shaking and rocking along with sorrowful smiles.
After calls for an encore, BANG! began. A boiling performance with stabbing words from MSTR had the audience's spirits burning. Following the beat of JIRO 6, Zion followed, a hard-edged rock number that splattered and sparked. MSTR's call “do you rock!?” led into the similarly-named Can you Rock!?. Another rocking baptism raised flames on the floor and burned them out.
The second encore started with CANARIA (カナリア), which is central to the band's new story. This second performance had even more strength and passion than the first, and the twin guitar of MSTR and SHIGE ROCKS was especially exciting. Then the last song of the night, NEO, drew the largest frenzy on the floor, with MSTR swinging a huge flag on stage and drowning the spectators with positive energy. This kind of crazy smiling pleasure can only be found at a Crack6 live.
