In commemoration of the July 2nd release of DIR EN GREY's fifth documentary Blu-ray DIR EN GREY LIVE FILM Zankyou no Ketsumyaku, the band is doing a limited time collaboration with Tower Records Cafe (Shibuya and Umeda only).

Each of the band members produced different items on the menu. I saw a lot of people online ordering by member, but as I have a shrimp allergy and it was 10:30 in the morning, it limited my options to things without alcohol or shrimp. I ended up with Die's Mapo Tofu.

It was pretty standard mapo tofu, there was something that seemed to be some kind of egg roll or spring roll on top of the rice and a cherry tomato. The cherry tomato was a nice little addition.

I'm a sucker for a good cheesecake, so my next item was Toshiya's cheesecake. This absolutely stole the show—10/10, no notes, put it in the grocery store so I can buy 12 more. The mint was such a perfect compliment to the berries.

As cool as I think Kyo is, I just couldn't order cola in a situation like this so I went with Shinya's chaidora. It was a pretty good chai.

I was able to pull blindly from a box for 4 postcards and choose 1 postcard freely somewhere between the cheesecake and the chai.

I chose Kyo because he's a cool guy and he sounded really good in the clips they had running on screens around the room. (We were specifically asked not to photograph the screens so they're not pictured here.)

Lastly, out of sheer curiosity I ordered from the take out menu. You could order a soft drink or a beer and because I didn't want to be walking around with a beer at mid-day, I got the soft drink.

Overall my only regret is that I didn't have more time to relax and just enjoy the atmosphere for as long as I would've preferred. Even if the merch you were aiming for sold out before you could get in it's a fun little outing! I think I might want to go back.
